Required Knowledge and Experience:

EDUCATION and PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: as required for the position

  • Forklift certification or able to complete in-house certification;
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

JOB SUMMARY:
The parts manager is responsible for ensuring that our customers receive the very best in parts support and service.  It includes day-to-day leading, developing and managing all positions within the department and for meeting parts sales, gross margin, parts administration and inventory goals.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):
•    Management and monitoring of Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction of parts sales growth and parts marketing
•    Parts inventory management (receiving, warehousing, shipment, ordering, monitoring backorders)
•    Promotes and merchandises parts and accessories in conjunction with marketing programs to meet department profitability and goals.
•    Coordination of parts activity with Sales, Rental and Service departments
•    Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and/or annual physical inventory and proper counter procedures
•    Identify ordered parts with long lead time and obtain through alternate suppliers within price guidelines
•    Monitor all parts orders for full and timely shipment to customer
•    Submits all parts warranty and return claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit
•    Provide alternatives for parts not in stock or not easily identifiable – interact with service department to provide viable alternatives
•    Effectively engages department personnel by recommending training and preparing employee performance evaluations.
•    Branch Safety and Environmental compliance according to corporate guidelines.
•    Manages employee development activities and performance through coaching and performance evaluations.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
•    High School diploma or equivalent.
•    BS/BA in business related field, preferred.
•    7-10 years of experience in parts sales, marketing, product support, product management or related field.

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES:
•    Strong manager with problem solving skills.
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Detailed problem solving and troubleshooting skills required.
•    Must be able to travel occasionally for training and or customer visits

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (E.G. LANGUAGE, MOBILITY):

•    May require some physical exertion to manually move lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials, up to 50lbs.

Sales Representative – 132154BR

Position Description

This position will be accountable for retail sales and rentals of Volvo GPE equipment in a specified region. The incumbent in this position must be organized, a self-starter and an effective communicator that will create consistent and clear channels of communication with all department staff, customers, vendors and management.

Main Tasks/ Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for equipment sales and rentals to a customer base including heavy civil contractors, general contractors, building contractors, utility contractors, & municipalities.
  • Active participation in local industry associations;
  • Preparation of weekly sales forecasts;
  • Maintaining application and product expertise relative to customer base;
  • Completion of competitive business reports;
  • Develop targeted industry marketing programs as required;
  • Requires close working relationships with Product Support personnel and Rental Manager;
  • Responsible to forward competitive product information, pricing and industry changes to the Volvo Regional Team;
  • Develop and maintain product application expertise commensurate with Volvo standards on all products marketed by Volvo Construction Equipment;
  • Work safely at all times. Adhere to all VCES applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, standards, and values.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Must have at a minimum, a High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college in business administration or a related field is highly desired.
  • 3-4 years of strong sales experience with construction industry products and knowledge in various types of ground engaging equipment, including, but not limited to excavators, wheel loaders, and articulated hauler trucks.

Compact Utility Sales Representative – 131808BR

Position Description

This position will be responsible for the demonstration and retail sales and rentals of all Compact and Utility products in the assigned territory. Champion a “Safety First”, “Customer Focused” and a continuous improvement culture. The territory for this role is between San Bernardino County and Riverside County.

Main Tasks/ Responsibilities: 
•    Work safely at all times. Adhere to all VCES applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, standards, and values.
•    Responsible for equipment sales and rentals for compact and utility product line.
•    Active participation in local industry associations.
•    Provide and generate sales and service leads in a timely fashion.
•    Building on existing and foster new customer relationships to increase machine sales, rentals and parts sales.
•    Preparation of weekly sales forecasts and/or submits weekly call reports.
•    Maintaining application and product expertise relative to product and customer base.
•    Completion of competitive business reports as required.
•    Develop targeted marketing programs in-conjunction with the sales manager and marketing team as required.
•    Requires close working relationships with Product Support personnel and Sales and Rental Coordinator.
•    Responsible to forward competitive product information, pricing and industry changes to the Volvo Regional Team
•    Attend OEM and company training, as well as industry trade shows and industry events as required.
•    Utilize the company CRM and other tools to effectively carry out his/hers responsibilities. This includes record of all calls, quotes, visits and sales to ensure all customer data is accurate. Ensure lost sales are properly reflected in the CRM.
•    Assist with accounts receivable collections when required.
